We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to create this nature-inspired playground for the children and staff at Sankofa Montessori Charter School.

Our Journey:

Our journey began by clearing this space, which was overrun with overgrowth and dirt, to provide a fresh canvas for our work.
We then poured over 55 yards of concrete to define the space and create walkways connecting all the play structures.

Sustainability Matters:

Sustainability is at the core of our design.
We sourced all custom structures using locally grown White Oak and pressure-treated wood for raised garden beds and rock climbing walls.

This playground boasts an array of features, including:

• 7 Custom Raised Garden Beds filled with Organic Soil

• 2 Custom Rock Climbing Walls

• A Custom Log Climbing Structure

• 2 Hexagonal Picnic Tables made from recycled plastic

• Custom High Bars

• Four Square

• Custom White Oak Wood Stepping Logs

• Natural Boulders

• 24 ft. October Glory Maple Trees

• All New Planting Selection

• New Dark Brown Mulch for the entire playground aread
